  • The DriveCell module has a tiny H-Bridge chip formed by 4 transistors in the shape of an H. This allows us to control motors (direction and speed) and actuators (polarity and strength) by reversing current and adjusting the duty cycle via the input pins. These 2 input pins are typically driven in opposite polarities to control the output direction.
  • The DRV8837 chip has Overcurrent Protection, Undervoltage Lockout & Thermal Shutdown. Caution must still be taken not to reverse its supply rails.
  • Schematics for this module is available here - DriveCell Schematics.
  • This electronics kit is ROHS Compliant & follows IPC-A-600 II standard.
  • The box will include the DriveCell, a set of two M1.2 screws, and an individual (unsoldered) 4-pin male header.
  • Please note that the DriveCell is intended to be used as a DIY maker kit. For commercial purposes, please get in touch.

Applications DriveCell Applications

DriveCell is a tiny yet powerful H-bridge module that powers up your creations without eating up valuable space. Here's how you can make the most of it:

  • Brushed DC Motors - Perfect for building tiny rover bots or RC cars. Hook up a DriveCell to each motor to control both speed and direction effortlessly. Want to go even smaller? Pair it with CodeCell for the ultimate compact setup!
  • Magnetic Actuators - Combine DriveCell with FlatFlap or CoilPad to control their magnetic fields and create motion in the smallest of spaces.
  • High-Power LEDs - Use DriveCell as a transistor to light up those high-current LEDs! It can handle up to 1.8 amps.
  • Buzzers - Drive sound differentially, making those buzzes louder!
